How to read these numbers. # of Schools and Students Impacted count each threat: if the same school receives 2 separate threats, it is counted as 2. Taxpayer cost is the cost of fake (hoax) threats in the 2025–26 school year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026): lost instructional time and the lasting mental-health impact on students. 2-Year Total adds the 2024–25 cost in the same place.
